Core Web Vitals - what they are

Core Web Vitals are three Google metrics: how quickly the main content appears (LCP), how quickly the page responds to a tap (INP) and whether the layout jumps around while loading (CLS). They are a ranking signal, but not the main one: a fast page without the right content will not rise. That is why speed is a separate stage, not the whole of optimisation.

How to speed up your website

Pages are most often slowed down by three things: full-size images, scripts that load on every page and slow hosting. On WordPress, heavy themes and plugins add to the problem. We show exactly what is slowing down each page and rank the fixes by time saved - the biggest gains first.

A lab test depends on the server load at the moment of the check. That is why we look at real-user data where available, as well as at the specific causes.
